March is Women’s History Month, and the theme this year is “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories.”
To celebrate the stories of women in the learning and development field and multiple education spaces, we reached out to internal and external partners and thought leaders to talk to them about their professional lives and the stories that have inspired them.
At ansrsource, we believe in the power of storytelling to educate, connect, and enrich people’s lives. We are grateful to the women who chose to share their stories with us. We hope you enjoy learning about the women we spoke with as much as we loved speaking with them.
Happy Women’s History Month!
Dr. Meghann Ryan, Educator and Psychologist
What is favorite part about working in the education and development space?
As a lifelong learner, I joked that I never left school between rounds of graduate school and teaching. Helping others succeed is my favorite part about working in education fields as I get to be a part of each learner’s journey and they are a part of mine.
Who is a woman you look up to?
I am always inspired by women in STEAM roles and leadership positions. They are amazing role models for the next generations.
What is your favorite story for kids of any age?
Short stories have always been a favorite of mine. The Frog and Toad stories hold a special place in my heart as my grandmother and I used to read them together.
If you could recommend one piece of learning for your community, where would you start?
I encourage everyone to learn about media literacy. We are consuming information in rapid succession, more than ever before. It is important to examine all this data we consume, from funny memes to news sources, to social media posts, and more.
