Lead Product Tester (QA Lead)
Description

We are looking for a Lead – Quality Engineering to define and scale modern quality practices across our product ecosystem. This role goes beyond traditional QA and focuses on building a quality engineering culture where testing, automation, observability, and reliability are embedded throughout the development lifecycle. 

As the Quality Engineering Lead, you will own the end-to-end quality strategy, lead a team of 6–8 QA engineers, and work closely with engineering, DevOps, accessibility, and product teams to ensure our platforms meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, scalability, and accessibility. 

This role is ideal for someone who combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership, and who is passionate about automation-first testing, AI-assisted testing, cloud-native quality engineering, and distributed system validation. 

Responsibilities

Define and drive the overall quality engineering strategy across products and platforms. 

Implement shift-left and shift-right testing practices, ensuring quality is embedded from design through production monitoring. 

Introduce risk-based testing approaches aligned with critical user workflows and business priorities. 

Define and track quality KPIs, including: 

  • Test coverage 
  • Defect leakage 
  • Automation coverage 
  • Release readiness 
  • Production reliability metrics 

Participate in architecture and design reviews to proactively identify quality risks. 

 

Continuously evaluate and adopt tools such as: 

  • Playwright / Cypress / Selenium 
  • REST Assured / Postman / Pact 
  • Modern API testing frameworks 

 

AI-Assisted Testing & Intelligent QA 

Evaluate emerging tools and frameworks that improve test productivity and coverage through AI capabilities. 

 

Cloud-Native & Distributed System Testing 

Develop testing strategies suitable for microservices and distributed architectures. 

Implement cloud-native testing environments that mirror production infrastructure. 

Design and execute distributed performance and load testing using AWS infrastructure. 

Enable large-scale performance simulations using tools such as: 

  • k6 
  • Gatling 
  • JMeter 
  • Locust 

Leverage cloud platforms (AWS) to simulate realistic user traffic patterns and production workloads. 

Ensure system validation for: 

  • Scalability 
  • Resilience 
  • Failover scenarios 
  • Fault tolerance 

 

Reliability, Observability & Production Validation 

Collaborate with DevOps to integrate observability into quality engineering using logs, metrics, and distributed tracing. 

Support production readiness testing, including: 

  • Chaos testing 
  • Fault injection 
  • Recovery validation 

Ensure that performance and reliability metrics are continuously monitored post-release. 

Drive the adoption of quality signals from production telemetry to improve testing strategies. 

 

Accessibility & Compliance Testing 

Collaborate with the Accessibility Lead to ensure testing processes include accessibility validation aligned with WCAG standards. 

Integrate accessibility testing into automated pipelines and QA workflows. 

Ensure accessibility defects are tracked and resolved alongside functional issues. 

 

Team Leadership & Culture 

Lead and mentor a team of 6–8 QA engineers. 

Establish best practices for: 

  • Test design 
  • Test documentation 
  • Test case management 
  • Defect tracking and reporting 

Encourage continuous learning and experimentation with new tools and techniques. 

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

Work closely with: 

  • Engineering Lead 
  • DevOps Lead 
  • Accessibility Lead 
  • Product Managers 

Ensure testing is integrated into sprint planning, design discussions, and release cycles. 

Provide clear visibility to stakeholders on product quality, risks, and release readiness. 

Qualifications
  • 5–8 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role. 

    Strong experience with: 

    • Test automation frameworks 
    • API and microservices testing 
    • CI/CD integration 
    • Cloud-native systems 

    Hands-on experience with modern automation tools such as: 

    • Playwright / Cypress / Selenium 
    • REST Assured / Postman 
    • JMeter / k6 / Gatling 

    Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred). 

    Strong understanding of distributed system architectures and testing strategies. 

    Experience implementing automation-first QA processes. 

    Strong understanding of defect lifecycle management and root cause analysis. 

    Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills. 

     

    Good to Have 

    Experience with AI-assisted testing tools and practices. 

    Experience with distributed load testing in cloud environments. 

    Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes). 

    Experience with contract testing frameworks (Pact). 

    Knowledge of security testing tools and practices. 

    Experience integrating observability tools into testing workflows.
