Job Responsibilities

Graders are required for a specific project that involves evaluating assignments submitted by students for a HigherEd client. The students are professionals who have enrolled in courses to upgrade their skills and learn more.

The exact scope of work for the project is outlined as follows:

  • Consultant will perform the role of “graders” and will evaluate student touchstones/assessments for a variety of courses submitted on the client platform.
  • The courses belong to a variety of subjects including but not limited to Business, Science, English, and Social Sciences, and Technology.
  • Each course has 1-3 assignments, known as Touchstones. Touchstones are essay-type, application-based assignments where students must apply concepts from the course to real-life scenarios.
  • Subject-matter expertise is NOT required to grade Touchstones because grading is more about understanding the rubrics assigned to a course and the specific requirements from the course.
  • Consultants will have a daily target in terms of number of Touchstones to grade. This will reflect their efficiency and will vary, depending upon the course they are grading.
  • The specific number of weekly touchstones in the Consultant's queue will be based on actual submissions received from students as well as the Consultant’s performance on quality metrics.
  • Consultants will be evaluated weekly on efficiency and quality.

  • Ability to identify gaps in logic and correct them
  • Ability to catch small and big grammatical issues in writing and correct them
  • Ensure that project guidelines and standards are met in all deliverables
  • Identify errors in comprehension and interpretation of source content

Verbal Communication

  • Ability to communicate with peers effectively
  • Ability to communicate with clients effectively

Technical English

  • Fluency with English language and grammar at the intermediate or advanced level

Special Skill: Attention-to-detail

Education and Certification
  • BA in subjects such as Mass Communication / English Literature /Journalism / Psychology/ Education
  • MA in any subject
  • Any formal training in writing or editing
  • Knowledge of or experience with content authoring and/or web media creation tools is a bonus
